TIP #2  DIRTY TRANSMISSION FLUID IS GRITTY LIKE SAND PAPER WHICH CAUSES PREMATURE WEAR AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE.

 

TIP #3   CHANGE OIL EVERY 3,000 MILES FOR CONVENTIONAL OIL AND SIMI SYNTHETIC OIL. CHANGE FULL SYNTHETIC OIL EVERY 5,000 MILES.

 

TIP #4   TIMING BELTS ARE DUE EVERY 90,000 MILES. MOST ENGINES ARE INTERFERANCE WHICH MEANS IF THE TIMING BELT BRAEKS THE VALVES HIT THE PISTONS AND YOU WOULD NEED A VERY COSTLY REPAIR.

 

TIP #5   CHECK TIRE PRESSURES EVERY 30 DAYS AND ROTATE TIRES EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE

 

TIP #6  CHECK THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM EVERY YEAR; INSPECT BRAKE PADS, ROTORS AND DRUMS AT EACH OIL CHANGE.

 

TIP #7  INSPECT FUEL FILTER AT EACH OIL CHANGE. REPLACE IF RESTRICTED OR WATER CONTAMINATED OR ONCE A YEAR ON CARS WITH CARBURETORS. ON CARS WITH FUEL INJECTION REPLACE FILTER EVERY TWO YEARS OR 24,000 MILES.

 

TIP #8  INSPECT EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR LEAKS, DAMAGE AND BROKEN SUPPORTS OR EXHAUST HANGERSIF THERE IS AN UNUSUAL NOISE. EXHAUST LEAKS CAN BE DANGEROUS AND MUST BE CORRECTED WITHOUT DELAY.

 

TIP #9  INSPECT STEERING AND SUSPENSION ANNUALLY, INCLUDING SHOCK ABSORBERS, STRUTS AND CHASSIS PARTS, SUCH AS BALL JOINTS, TIE ROD ENDS AND OTHER RELATED COMPONENTS. REPLACE THESE PARTS IF LEAKS, DAMAGE AND LOOSE MOUNTING HARDWARE ARE FOUND.

 

TIP #10 INSPECT THE ENGINE AIR FILTER AT EACH OIL CHANGE. REPLACE ANNUALLY OR WHEN TORN, WATER OR OIL SOAKED, DIRTY OR SHOWING OTHER SIGNS OF WEAR.
